Unagi Toku Kyoto Takashimaya in Kyoto

There is a great beer garden on the roof of this building during the summer. You can drink beer and eat food as much as you can. It’s very good place for party and meeting people. The ticket is around 3800¥. There are discounts for men or women on some specific days. This price is much cheaper than most restaurants in the area. Its location is right above the Hankyu railway station, so it’s very convenient for transportation.

You can find legendary soba at 7th level!

This plce is where your credit card will swipe allday and enjoying the branded items like Gucci, bulgari .cartier. fendi and other highend names. Visit also the b1 and you will see a many kind of food. Its like a hidden gem.

There are an incredible amount of stores, brands and fashion designer areas in this building especially in the higher levels, also encompassing Kyoto's local Pokemon Center. The staff were approachable, and were eager to help as they asked us to clarify any of our shopping. An excellent location right near the subway line.

A very large and interesting mall. Lots of neat stuff there worth checking out. We ate at a few of the restaurants there during our trip. The food floor was the most coolest place to me. All different kinds of things down there! It was a bit difficult to order things in the limited Japanese we knew.

The only thing that attracted me to this place was the food hall in the basement! It's food galore. Everything and anything you want to eat. You would be lost for choice. You'll have to go around a few times to get over the bombardment of food choices.Sashimi, sushi, tonkatsu, bento boxes, salad, sweets and etc. Great place to get a takeaway for a meal in when you're too tired to find another restaurant to get to.

Huge department store located in the heart of downtown Kyoto. The basement had a grocery section with a wide variety of meat fruits, beer, wine, and desserts perfect for souvineers. First floor is women's accessories. Second and third floor is women's clothing. Fourth floor men's wear. 5th floor children's clothing and kimonos. 6th floor is art and home goods (another great place for souvineers). 7th floor has a variety of fabulous restaurants.

Service that is unimaginable in America. The food hall in the basement can be a bit overwhelming but the choices are excellent. Japanese stationary, rice bowls, and knives make good souvenirs or gifts.

All these stores are generally upmarket and this one no different but as they all are clean, great friendly staff

There is a supermarket at the bottom with a really good selection of products. For those who like to bake they have. Big selection of moulds and tools for baking. They also have several small pastries were you can buy delicious cakes. On top floors, you have a lot of products and you can process tax-free. There are bathrooms.

Has a great food court. Try the little pastry shop and the meat pie and salad restaurant. Very nice experience

Good place for shopping and dinning.

Lovely department store with plenty of western brands as well as Japanese ones. You'll get greeted constantly as you walk through sections, but the staff are very friendly. Some decent variety of items, but few are inexpensive. Just wish there was more choices of Japan items. Loved finding some Japanese designers' works, and my kids liked going through the Japanese cosmetics.

The best department store in Kyoto. Very friendly staff and wonderful food hall. I food here some rare Japanese knives I were looking for and the Nikka whisky I love at a good bargain. They also comply with the tax refund programme for foreigners. TOP.

A massive, very clean and very upscale department store. The staff are also extremely helpful. We made the mistake, however, of thinking this would be something like the average department store in the West, with some budget options for simple items. We could not find a pillow for less than $150 CAD, or a pair of shorts for less than $80 CAD. A great place to shop if you are wealthy, or looking to splurge on some high end items.

Everything you would expect from this name. Even in a crowdy day, like the one occasioned by the Gion Matsuri finale, it keeps the highest standards in place..

Great place if you have a lot of patience. Service in the Italian restaurant on the top floor leaves a little to be desired... Staff in some outlets decisively disinterested in their chosen career path...

Same old Taka, can find anything you need here, food stalls at the lower floors and plenty of designer brand shops within. MRT station is right below.

Takashimaya is our favorite Japanese department store./ Great selection and great service. Always a pleasure.

Don't bother about the store, go directly to the basement for the food. Had the best sake sushi here. But be on time, because at the end of the day (around 5 a 6 o'clock ) they reduce the price by 100Y but sometimes the sake sushi is already sold out! 6 pieces for 680 Y, a steal. The bento boxes sold here are also great. Liked the beef bento's a lot (prices vary between 850 , 1200, 1600). Buy half a bottle of sake, ask for cups and enjoy!

Busy upmarket indoor market

Very nice departmental store. We had dim sum in Ding Tai Fung restaurant inside Takashimaya. Pretty average and limited choices.

Grocery store B1 (Depachica)is nice.

We initially went to the store to get fabric for my mother-in-law but ended up getting a bunch of bakery items and fruit instead. The baked goods were so fresh and delicious. My husband and I left with probably 10 items and we would get each again. We did look through the furniture area and there were lots of beautiful pieces. We really can’t review much about the store except the floor with the bakery and other food items.

Takashimaya is a magical place. Beware of the arts and crafts floor it can get very spenny. It's more of a look around and don't touch kinda floor

Takashimaya is losing it's shine and glory. The past experience where the food hall is filled with test tasting is all gone. It used to he the high light of my visit to takashimaya when I was a kid, now there's no more such experience

Takashimaya department store is a must see. The store stocks all manner of homewares, clothing, cosmetics and high end items. High quality fashion is the mainstay, visit the basement food hall to see seasonal food, local specialty food and the most perfect and expensive fruits immaginable.

Good selection of pastries, sweets and food gifts on the basement floor. The store closes earlier than others in kyoto.

My wife and I enjoyed shopping here greatly. The staff is extremely pleasant and very helpful. There were many things available that were made in Japan which added to easily finding gifts to take home for friends and family. My only complaint was that, like all public places in Japan I went to, I felt that it was a little warm and was not comfortable after a spending just a few minutes inside. Other than that, a highly enjoyable experience.

Love it! I found Horai555 shop which also serves dine-in option without the long wait as most of the case with this brand.

Takashiyama is just a huge department store. But what I realized the most was me visiting Takashiyama primarily for the food they offered in the lower level floors. I love how the food shops have fine, detailed displays of their foods for you to see. It’s hard to say no to beautifully displayed food in nearly every corner. I’m not a huge sweets fan, but the desserts they have look absolutely amazing. The whole food presentation is just top notch. And that’s for a lot of the shops throughout Japan, actually. The department store even has a kimono shop and clothing store as well.

AC are too weak for UK people where usually cool.

Wow.. what a super shopping spot for everything... clothes, makeup, jewellery, electronics and more. Merchandise is both Japanese and International. The Japanese products of a superior quality and lovely. I got some unusual skin care and make up products. The store is way better than a Bloomingdales or Newman’s back home. The positive and hardworking staff quickly helped us tackle our shopping list. Very highly recommended for Americans.

Most amazing sweet shop I've ever seen.

Well consider that I don't speak or read Japanese, the only reason I came here was to just check it out since a lot of people were talking about it. But personally I think it was an ok bookstore, that's about it.
